How much does it cost?
Basic Store.co.za costs you R300 excluding VAT per month. You can build your own website using a store template and advertise and sell online.
Managing your costs for operating a Store linked site is the same as managing the costs for your business. You can choose to start off small and keep it simple and have a very clear idea of what your charges will be, or you can add additional features to grow your site which will incur additional charges.
If you opt to keep it simple at first, then when configuring your site you initially opt to “not accept” credit card payments but only manual EFT payments. This allows you to manage your transactions slower and get used to advertising and managing your site and products online. By not allowing online credit card payments, the cost of your site is set at R300 excluding VAT per month. If you generate more then 1 gigs worth of traffic to your site per month you will be billed R150 per additional gig for every gig over and above the initial gig. As a guide line, each transaction that goes through your store should generate a maximum of 200 Kb. That means that it would take 5242 transactions to create 1 gig worth of traffic. So a cost of R150, for 5242 purchases is definitely a manageable and worthwhile cost of doing business.
If you opt to accept credit cards online, the above will apply as well as 6% per transaction based on the transaction amount (this is a Bank Levied Charge).
If you opt to enable the sending of SMS’s, then you will be charged at 35c per SMS. But these are configurable and can be linked to successful transactions only, so once again a small and manageable cost of doing business.
The following are added costs that you may incur, some are optional whilst others only apply to you if you sell products or services from your site. So to sum up, below are the costs as detailed above.
- The rental cost for the Store.co.za product is R300 Ex VAT per month.
- As a Store.co.za member you will receive a Gig’s worth of traffic included in the standard package, thereafter you will be charged R150 per Gig used each month.
- There is a 6 percent charge on each credit card transaction that goes through your site. Please note that this is a bank charge and not levied by us.
- You will be charged 35c for every SMS that gets sent by your site, but this feature is configurable and optional.
